REHABILITATION CENTRE [PEACE VILLA]
Vision “Rehabilitation and empowerment of abused ladies”.
Mission Statement “To heal and develop abused ladies who will become responsible adults and helpful to others who may experience the same abuse like them in the society”.
Prostitution, Women and Child Trafficking, Abuse and Illicit Sex are epidemics destroying the fabrics of morality in our world today. Young girls are trafficked and forced into sex hawking to earn money so as to make a living. This is as a result of broken and dysfunctional families and this has led to high rate of people infected with HIV/AIDS, sexual transmitted diseases etc.
Peace Villa Rehabilitation Centre is seven years old in operation with a vision to give hope through rehabilitation and empowerment. It is structured to cater for ladies between the ages of 13 to 25 years who have been sexually abused. This is meant to give them another opportunity to be healed, empowered and live a normal life. Some of these ladies, who came into the Rehabilitation home without a sense of direction in life, have now been able to make a decision of who they want to become and where they want to be in life as a result of the personal transformation training curriculum prepared for them, which helps them mentally and morally. A mentoring program is also put in place to help monitor their development stages. Since inception the centre has rehabilitated a total of eighty one (81) ladies and counseled lots of other ladies too.
During the course of the year 2008 till now, some of our ladies who previously attended public schools were changed to private secondary schools in furtherance of our vision to effectively empower them.
All the ladies in the home are presently doing very well and in addition to the one that was admitted into Covenant University 2years ago, five are in private secondary schools while others are working. Together with NAPTIP (National Agency for Prohibition of Traffic In Persons) , one of our ladies was reconciled back to her family last year having undergone rehabilitation, empowerment through school as she obtained Junior Secondary School Certificate and also vocational training in Beads, event decorations and pastries making. We give all the glory to God.
We need your support to campaign, rehabilitate and put an end to the deadly act of Sexual Abuse in our society. Please don’t let another wounded soul die on your street, in your community and the nation at large.
