“FOR GIRLS ONLY”, a subsidiary of The Real Woman Foundation organized its seminar at Maryland, Ikorodu and Shomolu Areas of Lagos State on the 12th, 14th, and 15th of March 2007.
THE CORE OBJECTIVES OF “FGO” ARE:
1) To prepare girls in secondary schools for a future, as women, free of abuse and rejection.
2) To teach them how to groom themselves so as to have healthy self esteem, good etiquettes, healthy hygiene and to maintain it.
3) To teach them how they can live a balanced healthy life so as to become nation builders.
The Programme was aimed at:
- Educating girls on HIV/AIDS, causes and how to avoid it.
- Sexual Abuse, causes and how to avoid it.
- Personal Hygiene
- Power of Choice
- Etiquette
The program started at 8.30a.m with the registration of the girls and at 9.30a.m. the seminar commenced with an opening prayer.
ATTENDANCE: A total attendance of six hundred and sixty-seven (667) students from the following schools was encouraging.
The schools are as follows:

We also had forty-one (41) teachers from the above-mentioned schools and three representatives which include the Assistant Director of Education from Lagos State Education District II in attendance.
SOUVENIRS:
We gave Seven hundred and six (706) jotters and Seven hundred and thirty-four (734) Second Revolutions to the attendees. We also gave four packs of The Real Woman T-Shirts to the Government officials and transport fare to schools in attendance which totalled N9, 170.
REFRESHMENT: There was provision made for biscuits and pure water as refreshment in which all the student in attendance was served, and felt happy at having a nice time in the seminar.
SPONSORSHIP: The programme was sponsored by The Real Woman Foundation.
SUCCESS STORY: The seminar was a great success, as all that was planned for was achieved. |
